Bought it as cheap on-the-go backpack laptop to do oncall remote tasks (ssh,RDP,Horizon, etc).
First of all I did after full backup – exported all manufacturer preinstalled drivers for Win10 Home using dism tool. Then wiped this Win10Home and installed lighweight Win10 LTSC edition. After full drivers restore using pnputil it picked audio (not working out of the box for fresh install) with zero issues.
As dual boot installed Fedora 35 linux – everything works out of the box, including bluetooth/wifi, with only one small issue – local speakers/headset connector don’t work (but audio card is recognised by kernel and bluetooth or USB headset works without issues). The audio chipset CHUWI used there should be fixed soon in 5.17 (hopefully) kernel to enable local speakers/output.
Unfortunately it’s 5 real hours of idling, not 8-12 declared by manufacturer, but overall for $200 bucks it’s a good “disposable” thing for hiking, biking, travel, when you want something light and not crazy expensive in case of damage.
